The Angels have the last word...
It's a GLORIOUS day here mid 60s and it's the beginning of February! What 'bright' groundhog said we're getting six more weeks of winter? Me thinks, or hopes at least, he's WRONG.
It's scheduled to rain tomorrow and Gabi and I needed to get out. Off we went into the woods to discover new trails and be adventurous. I called it 'Getting Lost In the Woods'... how right that ultimately was!
I decided to do some catching up with family.
Called mom... no answer
Called my sis...no answer
Called a good friend...no answer
Called one of my younguns...no answer
What gives?! Sandalphon quickly jumped in to tell me that today was for exploring and observing. One simply could not observe if 'one was chatting on the phone'
Well okay then...I guess.
Off we ventured, onward towards the river. We (more likely I was DIRECTED) to take a certain path; down to the biggish stream, cross (thankfully I have waterproof shoes) and to the left. VERY specific Sandalphon, VERY specific... It's a beautiful day and off Gabi and I went. She cavorted briefly with a new friend in the water and her friend's owners were in shock that Gabi is a very young eight years old. We quickly parted ways and did not see another soul for another two hours.
Really.
We hugged the river as you can see and then the path headed right. Okay I thought, we're heading back towards the main area.
NOPE.
Deeper and deeper into the woods the path took us. Only hearing the crunching of my feet and Gabi playing in the brush. Hark, do I hear children? We must be getting close!
NOPE.
Not only did their voices disappear, we heard nothing again for the longest time. It was a prime time to chat away with The Gang. Chat we did... where I wish to be, how are they orchestrating it all; support, new folks, etc. How am I to fulfill my mission, etc. It WAS quite the talk let me tell you.
As my handy dandy fit bit buzzed and congratulated me on taking 10,000 steps, we still had no end in sight. I knew Gabi was getting a bit weary (as was I). Within moments, VIOLA! Water! In she went and SMILED. Smiled I tell you! As I was figuring out how to get to the other side, for it looked vaguely familiar, I spied the rope bridge. The Rope Bridge! Yes, it really became that important and deserved to be capitalized for I knew where it was!
As we finally treaded on trails we knew and headed towards home, The Gang chuckled.
"See, we are never far. As your walks, trips, segues may seem off the beaten track, we always take care of you and set you straight. You will always be heading towards your goals, no matter what."
WOW. That's all I need to say....
Very cool indeed! I usually take a walk with my gang in late fall to discuss life and where I want to be….I didn’t do this year…I’m now overdue. I feel a walk is in my near future as this blog has inspired me to do some walking and talkin’. (sans dog…don’t have one of those, only my small cat who doesn’t do walks). Thanks for a great walk in the woods….
Wow, love this!
